The University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Senior Technician to provide digital technical expertise for teaching and research-related projects within the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (SoGEES). You will have a proven ability to contribute to all stages of data collection and analysis, from experimental design to the preparation of explanatory graphics. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to support staff and students in the deployment of computer programming languages.
About the role:
Essential criteria include the following:
Background in one or more of the following disciplines: Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geochemistry, Geography
Experience in coding
Experience working with geospatial data
Desirable criteria include:
Postgraduate qualification in one of the following disciplines: Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geochemistry, Geography
Experience in the use of environmental sensors
Remote sensing expertise
Experience in field data collection and/or laboratory analysis
Experience in the deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles
A recognised HE teaching qualification or accreditation commensurate with formal demonstration or the ability to obtain within two years of appointment
Membership of a professional body
Due to the nature of the role, A full UK driving licence is desirable.
