Description of Post
The post relates primarily to the teaching, academic assessment and academic administrative direction of courses including:
Toolmaking Apprenticeship (Phases 4 & 6)
The Assistant Lecturer will be required to comply with the policy of the Faculty of Engineering & Computing in the choice of teaching methods and technologies, and to undertake training to keep abreast of technological developments and teaching practices.
The priority subject areas to be covered may include:
Computer Aided Design
Engineering Drawing
Workshop Practice
CAM/CNC
Electrical Science
Communications
Engineering sciences
Engineering Technology
Renewable Energy
An ability to deliver lectures online is desirable for this position.
Course development, promotion and academic management of student learning are integral duties of the position.
Essential Qualifications
Advanced Certificate Craft “or equivalent” in Toolmaking
Five years relevant post-qualification experience.
