About the role
Please note: This is a fixed term role until 31st July 2027 in the first instance.
The appointed person will be expected to lead on support to functional review/Service Simplification projects for the Faculty of Engineering Sciences (FES), which will contribute to the effective and consistent provision of functional support in professional services areas across our academic departments, and faculty level teams.
The appointed person will work closely with colleagues in the Faculty Office and central teams to deliver the overall programmes of work. This may include activities such as developing the business case for change, communications strategy, leading on stakeholder engagement, data gathering, coordinating meetings, workshops and resources to support project delivery; and working with the business analysis team to design and deliver an effective operating model.
In addition, the role requires the postholder to work with a high degree of autonomy, taking a data-driven approach while taking advice from colleagues as necessary, and to present regularly to a range of senior stakeholders at internal meetings.
About you
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:
Graduate calibre or equivalent professional experience, within higher education or similar environment.
Proven track record in senior administrative role including experience of Higher or Further Education professional services.
Demonstrable experience of working across services and departments to deliver complex project outcomes to, possibly conflicting timelines.
Ability to demonstrate effective self-management and focus and to consider the wider implications of decisions and potential outcomes.
Experience of developing and managing strategic improvements projects.
