Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess at minimum, a PhD from a recognized university which should be in Environmental Science or a closely related field.
Candidates should also possess:
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in the field of Environmental Science or a closely related discipline
A good record of research and publications in reputable, peer reviewed journals
Evidence of ongoing research in the area of expertise, including tropical environmental scientific experience
Evidence of success in securing external research funding and pursuing independent research
Evidence of success in coordinating and overseeing an environmental science laboratory
Candidates with the following would have an advantage:
Experience in teaching and research at a doctoral level
Experience in the teaching and supervision of postgraduate students at the MSc, MPhil and PhD levels
Experience in management of laboratories
Proficiency in teaching and research in at least one (1) of the following areas: Environmental Pollution Climate Change Environmental Monitoring Environmental Policy
Environmental Pollution
Climate Change
Environmental Monitoring
Environmental Policy
The following would be considered assets:
Certificate in university teaching and learning
Research experience in Environmental Sciences
