Description of Post
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to lead antenna and device development for advanced manufacturing (Industry 4.0/5.0) and the Health and Life Sciences sectors, with a focus on 5G/6G RF, microwave, mmWave, and THz technologies. The successful candidate will join an established team with over 20 years’ experience delivering innovative wireless solutions to industry and will play a central role in designing bespoke advanced manufacturing solutions for SMEs in the PEACEPLUS region.
The role involves advancing research in emerging 5G/6G networks, including novel antenna design and the use of metamaterials and sustainable smart materials to enable practical high frequency, high speed communications, for improved manufacturing efficiency and automation in regional SMEs.
Essential Qualifications
PhD in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related field, OR, * equivalent research and innovation experience in an industrial setting - 4 years fulltime research after primary degree
Minimum 2.1 Honours degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related field.
4 Years active in research into antenna and RF system design demonstrated through high impact publications
Experience in RF/microwave circuit and system design, simulation and implementation; preferably with 5G and 6G low-power wireless devices and networks
Experience of antenna design and test
Experience of RF design/simulation tools such as Ansys or CST
Experience of anechoic chamber testing and characterisation of wireless devices and antennas
Ability to communicate effectively in English
