Fuyao University of Science and Technology (FYUST) is a new private research university located in Fuzhou, China. It was established with the generous donation of a globally renowned entrepreneur Mr. CAO Tak Wong, officially approved by the Ministry of Education in February 2025.

About School
School of Digital Economy and Management (SDEM) adheres to the core values of Digital-Intelligence Integration, Innovation Leadership, and Moral and Professional Competence. The school features a unique interdisciplinary approach that integrates technology, economics & management, and digitalization. With a global outlook, it aims to build a world-class school through international collaboration in education and research, and to establish a future-oriented educational hub, research platform, and digital ecosystem that transcends regions, cultures, and disciplines. In the digital era, SDEM aims to cultivate versatile, innovative business talents and industry management elites—"π-type talents"—who are proficient in both technology and management, capable of discerning trends and leading transformations.
The research focuses include: data science and artificial intelligence; business intelligence and digital transformation; intelligent management and decision sciences; economics and data-driven public policy; spatial data science and GIS; sociology and computational social science.
Responsibilities:
Conducting impactful research, publishing scholarly work, securing external funding to support research and laboratory activities
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring and advising undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students
Providing academic services through committee work, peer review, and curriculum development
Engaging professionally with the economics of AI and digitalization community via conferences, editorial roles, and collaborations
Upholding research integrity and institutional standards.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in digital economy, management science and engineering, management, or related areas by the date of appointment
Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching; alignment with school priorities
Track record of high-impact publications and/or industrial collaboration
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting annual salary: Assistant Professor: £43k; Associate Professor: £65k; Professor: £76k; Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Research support: Startup and ongoing research funding (case-by-case based on profile)
Facilities: Well-equipped offices; state-of-the-art laboratories; ample lab space; core facilities
Housing: On-campus faculty apartments
Visa & family support: Visa sponsorship; support for children’s education
Government talent programs: FYUST actively supports applications to eligible provincial/municipal talent programs (e.g., settlement allowances, housing subsidies), subject to policies and eligibility
Environment: Strong encouragement for industry collaboration and cross-disciplinary research
