The role
This role sits within the Surrey Academy for Blockchain and Metaverse Applications and supports the delivery of research, funding, and industry engagement activity across emerging technology areas.
You will work closely with academic leads and external partners to support funding applications, research coordination, and project delivery. The role is hands-on and suits someone who is organised, curious, and comfortable working across multiple workstreams.
Key aspects of the role include:
Identifying and tracking relevant research and innovation funding opportunities
Supporting preparation of grant applications, including impact, alignment, and compliance sections
Coordinating research documentation such as whitepapers, technical notes, and supporting materials
Supporting journal submission and academic publication processes
Mapping industry ecosystems, partners, and stakeholders in AI, blockchain, immersive and creative technologies
Coordinating activity between academics, industry collaborators, and internal teams
Maintaining clear records, timelines, and project documentation
This is a part-time role (0.3 FTE/10.8 hours per week) available on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2026.
About you
You are organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. You are comfortable working with written material and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
You will have:
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Good written communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines and follow structured processes
Confidence working with documentation and data
An interest in research, innovation, or emerging technologies
