If you would like to help keep our extensive grounds beautiful, join our team as Litter Picker where you will deliver and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction acting as a positive ambassador for the University.
As Litter Picker you will keep external space and public areas of the campus clean and tidy. You will be responsible for litter picking and waste disposal and actively contributing to maintaining the high standards required to provide a clean and safe space for students, staff and visitors to the University.
You will be working either 8am - 12 noon or 12 noon - 4pm.
As Litter Picker you can expect to be involved in:
Maintaining the external campus, ensuring it is clean and tidy. Undertaking litter picking, as well as emptying and cleaning of external bins and removal of chewing gum from pathways and external public spaces.
Monitoring all external public areas of the Canterbury campus, reporting incidents and/or any vandalism or graffiti to Estates Customer Services additionally monitor external notice boards, removing any out-of-date posters/flyers/materials.
Providing support for University events, including Open Days, Arrivals and Departure weekends, undertaking litter picking, removing rubbish from accommodation, monitoring external bins and keeping bin areas clean and tidy.
What will you bring to the role?
Good verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate clearly and to understand and follow verbal and written procedures.
Good understanding of health and safety procedures & safe working practices.
Flexible and willing to work additional hours to meet essential operational requirements to cover absence and events, as reasonably requested.
Ability to effectively undertake all physical aspects of the role.
