This exciting role to teach on our BA (Hons) SFX Props and Modelmaking for Film and TV programme as well as our MA Special Effects for Film and TV programme. You will also be expected to lead or co-lead one or both of these programmes.
This role requires versatile making skills across a range of materials and processes. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every criterion. We are particularly looking for talented individuals with experience of:
Set Dec
Hand props
Basic metalwork, including MIG welding
Metal lathe operation
General woodwork and carpentry skills
Fibreglassing
Foam use and material knowledge (PU foams, Rubbers, Plastics)
Vac Forming
Moulding and casting techniques, including gun moulds
Sculpting skills
CAD experience
3D modelling and some experience with 3D printing technologies
Painting, ageing, and surface finishing
Weapons Creation
Leatherwork
Confident use of power tools and workshop equipment
Pattern Making
