About the role:

The Department of Immunology and Inflammation (DoII) is looking for a Laboratory Manager to join the team on a maternity cover basis. The post holder will play a vital role in the administration and management of the research laboratories within the Centre for Inflammatory Disease (CID) based at Imperial College London’s Hammersmith Campus.

What you would be doing:

You will have responsibility for the day to day running of the laboratories within the CID. You will support the Centre Director as well as Principal Investigators in the management of their labs and in executing their Health and Safety responsibilities and will be supported by, and have line management responsibility for, a Laboratory Support Assistant. You will lead the Centre Sustainability Team, and you will be responsible for maintaining the Gold LEAF award and driving forward the Green Impact application. You will maintain the laboratory consumable stocks and be responsible for procurement for the Centre.

What we are looking for:

  • BSc degree in a biological or medical subject, or equivalent
  • Experience of laboratory management
  • Experience as a Safety Co-ordinator for a research group
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
