Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) having campuses across the United Kingdom, is looking for a Academic Quality and Compliance Manager across all campuses which includes Birmingham, Manchester, London, Braford and Leicester based in the Birmingham campus.

Purpose

The Academic Quality and Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the correct application of the institution’s policies, regulations and procedures as defined by HEI and Office for Students standards and requirements. He/she will work closely with the Head of Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with institutional and sector regulatory frameworks. In addition, they will be responsible for the regulation of associated risks from non-compliance, manage the delivery of the Quality Assurance Department’s procedures and regulations, and provide evidence to mitigate against institutional risk. The postholder will be required to demonstrate exceptional leadership and advice the Head of Quality Assurance on compliance of the programmes and modules offered by the institution in compliance with the requirements of the degree awarding body.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the policies and procedures of Scholars School System (SSS) are regularly reviewed, updated, and consistently implemented across all higher education provision and campuses in London, Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester.
  • To ensure the effective and consistent implementation of the policies, procedures, and systems of partner awarding bodies and affiliated colleges across all programmes delivered by Scholars School System.
  • To work closely with the Head of Quality Assurance and Enhancement in preparing Scholars School System for application to the Office for Students (OfS) for Degree Awarding Powers (DAPs).
  • To contribute to the development, maintenance, review, and continuous enhancement of Scholars School System’s quality assurance framework, including policies and procedures.
  • To produce high-quality quality monitoring and enhancement reports, as required, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • To support and promote a culture of continuous improvement by leading the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of quality enhancement initiatives across Scholars School System.
  • To lead the approval, accreditation, monitoring, and periodic review processes within an assigned portfolio of academic programmes.
  • To coordinate and undertake internal quality audits in line with institutional priorities and the requirements of awarding bodies and partner organisations.
  • To oversee and manage complaints and academic appeals processes, ensuring they are handled efficiently, fairly, and within required timeframes.
  • To act as Secretary, where required, to key academic and corporate governance committees, including the Board of Directors, Academic Board, Learning and Teaching Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and Programme Committees.
  • To undertake special projects relevant to the role of Academic Quality Manager, as directed.
  • To produce analytical and evaluative reports using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making and support institutional effectiveness.
  • To present written and verbal reports to senior leadership, including the CEO, Deputy CEO, Deans, and the Head of Quality Assurance and Enhancement.
  • To liaise effectively with Deans, Associate Deans, Programme Leaders, academic staff, and external stakeholders to support the delivery of academic quality and standards across Scholars School System.

Person Specifications

  • Significant experience of monitoring, managing and enhancing quality standards, procedures, frameworks, regulations, and best practices in higher education
  • Experience of dealing with partnerships or collaborations with relevant HEI(s) to achieve institutional objectives and drive innovation can be an added advantage
  • Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques, including statistical analysis.
  • Membership of a quality assurance body is an added advantage

Personal/Role based benefits

  • Salary is £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
  • Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs after successful probationary period.

Job Type

  • Basic hours are 40 Hours weekly
  • Working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Field visits to the respective SSS campuses are periodically required, all travel expenses reimbursed.
