The Cambridge Research Office sits at the heart of the University's research mission, supporting academics and professional services colleagues to deliver exceptional, compliant and impactful research.

We are seeking a Learning and Knowledge Support Lead to play a pivotal role in how learning, training and knowledge are designed, delivered and sustained across the research support community.

This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead an integrated Learning & Knowledge Support function, bringing together training programmes, guidance content and digital platforms into clear, accessible and high quality support.

About the role

As Learning and Knowledge Support Lead, you will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of a coordinated learning and knowledge support offer spanning research administration, systems, financial management and compliance
  • Work closely with subject matter experts across the Research Office and departments to identify capability gaps and translate expertise into effective learning and guidance
  • Ensure training and guidance are consistent, accessible, well designed and aligned to institutional priorities
  • Oversee learning platforms and content governance, creating a clear "front door" to research training and guidance
  • Use data, feedback and insight to continuously improve learning materials and approaches
  • Line manage and support a small team, setting priorities and building a resilient, collaborative learning service

This role is both strategic and hands on: you'll shape direction while also ensuring delivery works well day to day.

You'll bring:

  • Experience designing and delivering high quality training or learning programmes
  • Strong instructional design skills and an understanding of inclusive, accessible learning
  • Confidence working with digital learning platforms (e.g. LMS, SharePoint or similar)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical experts
  • A pragmatic, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement

If you want to help shape a critical Learning & Knowledge Support function for Research Administration in the Research Office, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how learning and knowledge are delivered across the University.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
