About the role

This role will contribute to the development and implementation of a Clinical Service Platform (CSP) for identifying and tracking individuals with first-episode bipolar disorder within NHS Early Intervention (EI) services. The post is based within the Hintze Centre programme on mood disorders and will support future AI-enabled diagnostic tools and longitudinal research.

What you would be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of a GDPR-compliant Clinical Software Platform (CSP) aimed at capturing structured clinical data and integrating it seamlessly with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. This platform is central to improving data accessibility, clinical decision-making, and research capabilities.

A core aspect of the role involves close collaboration with Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) teams within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) and West London NHS Trust. You will identify individuals at risk of or presenting with bipolar disorder, with the goal of early detection and improved clinical outcomes.

In parallel, you will lead the end-to-end management of clinical and research data, overseeing processes such as data cleaning, validation, standardization, and documentation to ensure integrity, quality, and reproducibility across all workflows.

Your role involves active liaison with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, data scientists, and academic collaborators, to ensure the platform evolves in line with user needs and research goals. You will contribute to the development and refinement of data integration strategies and help align the platform with broader digital health initiatives.

Additionally, you will play a key role in contributing to collaborative grant applications, with a focus on articulating methodological approaches and ensuring workflows are fully documented and reproducible, thereby supporting transparent and scalable research practices.

What we are looking for

You will have a PhD in Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Data Science, or a related health field with experience of working in clinical mental health settings. You will have a strong interest in AI and machine learning.
