About the role

We are seeking a motivated Research Fellow with expertise in life cycle assessment and knowledge in bioplastics and the circular economy.

You will be responsible for carrying out life cycle assessment for this exciting project on a fully home compostable coffee cup. You will have the opportunities to interact with 14 partners across Europe and Africa and support the consortium on the journal of developing sustainable bioplastics.

This is a fixed-term role until 30 09 2028 in the first instance.

About you

  • You will have a PhD (awarded or near completion) in a relevant subject area and an interest in sustainable solutions to the plastic problems.
  • You will have experience in conducting LCAs in a relevant field and interacting with industrial partners.
  • Abilities to gather and analyse life cycle inventory data and to work to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and an eye for detail are essential for this post

Research Fellows: Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis.
