About the job:
You will manage the mixed-methods evaluation of participant experience associated with the DAME trial, a multi-centre UK trial to compare two treatment pathways for Diabetic Macular Oedema. The postholder will also manage a process evaluation to assess implementation and scalability aspects post-trial. The postholder will also contribute to other ongoing collaborative research projects in opthamology.
The research involves close collaboration with stakeholders (including PPI representatives, research participants, clinical and academic colleagues), management and monitoring of recruitment to focus groups and interviews, qualitative and (basic) quantitative data collection and analysis, report writing and dissemination of findings.
The study is funded by NIHR. The post involves travel to sites across the UK for data collection activities therefore remote working options may be considered within the UK.
About the person:
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
Have or be about to obtain (have submitted a PhD thesis for examination) a PhD, or, in a health-related discipline or social science or a closely related subject relevant to the study.
Significant experience of research in a relevant area.
Experience of working in an applied research context.
Experience of designing qualitative research and conducting qualitative data analysis.
Experience of arranging and conducting qualitative interviews and/or focus groups.
Evidence of having co-ordinated a research project to successful completion.
