About Us

Syracuse University London forms part of the global network of study abroad programs overseen and supported by Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, U.S.A. The Syracuse University London centre hosts around 600 students per year in fall and spring semesters; employs 20 permanent administrative staff members and 60 adjunct faculty members; offers 50-60 Syracuse University-approved courses/modules each term across 35 disciplines; and runs 200+ class field trips and a robust internship program, in addition to an intensive summer session. 

The role

This full-time, permanent position manages the curriculum for academic programs at the London Center by supporting faculty, contributing to curriculum development, and promoting an innovative, rigorous, and student-centered learning environment. This role has primary responsibility for managing and coordinating our adjunct faculty, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for teaching; promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; and maintaining high standards of academic excellence. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Teaching and Learning (ADTL) and leads academic administration in the London Program Office. 

Qualifications Required

  • Managerial experience in university academic services
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Experience:
    • Supporting or collaborating faculty initiatives
    • Participating in student academic integrity reviews/ honor role
    • managing, training, and collaborating with others
    • using educational technology and academic management systems
    • teaching in a higher education setting.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in a professional context
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills in working with diverse people at all levels of an organization 

Qualifications Desired

  • Doctoral degree or Masters’ Degree by research
  • Experience in drafting academic administrative communications
  • Experience working with American Higher Education Institutions
  • Experience teaching in your subject of research expertise
  • Desire to seek progressive levels of management and leadership responsibility
