gVID is a 2-year project funded by Enterprise Ireland's Commercialisation Fund that commenced at University College Cork in August 2025 and is progressing on schedule towards a minimum viable product (MVP). The technology we have developed in gVID offers a comprehensive end-to-end solution for producing video ads using Generative AI. The current focus of the project is developing a MVP and define the pathway to commercialisation based on allowing customers to significantly grow their return-from-investment from digital marketing.

We now seek a committed Research Support Officer (Commercialisation Lead) to join the team and guide the project towards a spin-out. A suitable candidate will have entrepreneurial experience in the tech sector, ideally with knowledge of digital marketing/advertising and take responsibility for:

  • Market opportunity assessment: Conduct detailed market segmentation and competitive analysis to identify, prioritise and support applications and early-adopter customers; quantify addressable market size, value propositions, and routes to market.
  • Business planning: Develop an investible Business Plan, including go-to-market strategy, regulatory considerations, and financial projections with the goal of securing sufficient investment to enable the start-up company to be formed at the end of the funded project.
  • Customer discovery: Engage new customer contacts through targeted outreach, site visits, conferences, trade shows, and digital channels, with the goal of identifying trial partners and building a pipeline of sustainable revenue stream for the start-up company.
  • Start-Up Formation: Support the formation of the spin-out company including successful License and Shareholders’ Agreement with UCC.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a convincing interest in joining a team focused on commercialising innovative technology in the exciting and quickly developing generative AI area.

Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.
