The Royal College of Art is seeking a collaborative and organised Journals & E-Resources Librarian to join its Library team within the Education and Student Success Directorate.

Working as part of the Collections & Systems strand, you will manage the Library’s print journals and electronic resources, ensuring effective access to high-quality scholarly content that supports teaching, research and creative practice across the College’s three campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage print journal and e-resource subscriptions, licences and renewals 
  • Maintain access to e-journals, databases and online platforms 
  • Monitor usage data and present statistics to support decision making 
  • Manage journals and e-resources budgets and expenditure 
  • Liaise with suppliers and sector partners, including Jisc 
  • Promote Library resources through guides, training and communications 
  • Contribute to enquiry services and collaborative Library projects 

The role is primarily campus based, with occasional agreed home working. Evening and Saturday shifts are required on a rota basis.

About You

You will have:

  • A professional qualification in Library or Information Science 
  • Experience managing journals and e-resources in an academic or specialist library 
  • Experience managing budgets and analysing usage data 
  • Knowledge of e-resource access and academic publishing developments 
  • Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills 

An interest in contemporary art, design and culture is desirable.
