The role

 The University of Bristol School of Mathematics is inviting applications for an outstanding teaching-focused Lecturer in Statistics and Data Science (P3) to support and enhance the delivery of our taught programmes in statistics and data science on a 3-year fixed term basis.

We are seeking to recruit candidates with a strong track record in teaching and scholarship in statistics and/or data science.

We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

What will you be doing?

Lecturing, small-group teaching, setting and marking examinations, project supervision, personal tutoring, contributing to the preparation and development of units, with a focus on statistics and data science. Teaching-related administrative duties and roles will be required.

You should apply if

  • you have experience of teaching statistics and/or data science to undergraduate students,
  • you have the ability to organise your own time  and work,  meet deadlines, and  manage  competing
  • You are interested in contributing to the development of teaching and pedagogy within the School of Mathematics

Contract type: Open ended with fixed funding for three years
