About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Research Associate in Cardiac Image Analysis to develop advanced approaches for analysing cardiac MRI datasets for prediction, association and classification tasks. This multidisciplinary collaboration will integrate imaging and genetic data to better understand transitions from health to disease.

What you would be doing:

You will lead on developing innovative self-supervised approaches for creating semantic representations of large-scale medical image data – focussing on time-resolved cardiac MRIs. You will be based in a world-leading centre for biomedical image analysis – but also divide your time at a clinical discovery-science campus working closely with clinicians and geneticists. You will have an opportunity to develop innovative computer vision frameworks for better understanding human health.

What we are looking for:

  • A PhD in computer science or a closely related discipline with evidence of relevant research achievements
  • Experience of cardiac/medical image segmentation including self-supervised video models.
  • Strong interest in understanding the drivers of cardiovascular disease

What we can offer you:

  • This role offers excellent training in computer vision and machine learning applied to human health
  • You will work at a world-leading Institution and be part of a diverse team interacting with leading experts
  • You will have an opportunity to make discoveries about human health that have an impact on patients
  • An opportunity to develop your own research interests within a research group focussed on cardiovascular health
  • Grow your career: gain access to Imperial’s sector-leading dedicated career support for researchers as well as opportunities for promotion and progression.
  • Sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 41 days off a year and generous pension schemes).
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
