Lecturer in Psychology Psychology, housed within the Faculty of Health, are seeking to appoint two exceptional lecturers at Grade 7 to support the delivery of our teaching programmes. The successful candidates will apply their academic passion in their pursuit of excellent and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We particularly invite applications from candidates with expertise in developmental, biological or social psychology, although, we also welcome applications from all areas of psychology. These posts are for fixed term appointments to July 31st and December 31st 2027, respectively.
Purpose of the Posts
- To deliver high quality teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- To provide academic and pastoral support to a large cohort of UG and TPG students.
- To engage in scholarly activities to inform and support teaching, assessment and curriculum development.
- To contribute to the administration of the teaching programmes and the Faculty.
Person Specification
- Essential
- PhD in Psychology (post viva with revisions pending may apply)
- Experience of teaching at university (or equivalent) level
- Experience of marking, assessing coursework and examinations, and providing feedback to students
- Ability to reflect on scholarship activities and translate those reflections into curriculum development activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability and willingness to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to prioritise and effectively balance competing demands
- Commitment to act in accordance with, and to promote, the university’s values
- Desirable
- Experience of supervising student research projects
- Experience of teaching quantitative or qualitative methods
- Experience in guiding students through the processes of applying for ethical approval and/or of reviewing ethics applications
- Experience of curriculum development
- Experience of teaching at postgraduate level
